I will be loading up software here that I have written personally over the last 20 years. Some of it is rather archaic, some is brand new. The qualifications for this software are:
1. It is useful to students and practicioners
2. It is easy to follow
3. It has been tested on a variety of platforms
While I cannot attest to the full accuracy and appropriate use for these software programs, I have found them to be true to their purpose. I have found that problems arise typically when the user does not understand the purpose and limitations of the program. Know what you are using, understand the concepts the software is applying, then carefully examine the data generated before giving credence to your computer analysis.
