Groundwater Flow

This is a collection of files from the SWMS2-D Package developed at Univ. California, Riverside. It is a 2-D program which models, saturated, unsaturated water flow, as well as one-component dissolved chemical (originally it was salt, but it can be any chemical that behaves in a similar fashion). The program is a bit cumbersome since it requires input files of overall configuration, soil, water, and chemical properties (.sel file), a finite element grid (.grd file) and (optionally) an infiltration history (.alv) file.

I modified it fairly extensively to produce a graphical output file (.dxf) which can be viewed by Volo View package (free) as well as AutoCad (not even close to free!).

If you would like to have a program that will generate more visual output, automatically generate FE Grids, and so forth, you can cough up a little money and buy HYDRUS-2D (Link: Hydrus-2D ) which is the logical continuation of SWMS.
