SCDoT Portland Cement Concrete Technician Certification is only valid with current certification as a Concrete Field Testing Technician by the American Concrete Institute (ACI). Although ACI Certification is not a pre-requisite to attending the SCDoT written examination held at USC, proof of ACI certification must be submitted to our offices no later than one year from successful completion of the written examination. SCDoT QC/QA Portland Cement Concrete Technician certification may be granted only after both courses have been completed. ACI certification must then be independently maintained to avoid possible suspension of SCDoT Technician Certification. For American Concrete Institute (ACI) Technician Certification information and scheduling, please refer to their website www.concrete.org or contact Mary Baer at (704) 588-9601.

A ten-question math quiz is offered for help in studying for the SCDoT certification examination; it is not required for registration. Please take a few minutes to download this quiz and take it at your own pace. Check your answers against the correct answers provided to determine if your calculations are correct. This precertification quiz is intended to ensure that all participants have the requisite mathematics skills to successfully complete the SCDoT Portland Cement Concrete and the American Concrete Institute (ACI) Technician Certification examinations. The precertification quiz is based on the SCDoT Mathematics Certification Test. Download math quiz

A preview tutorial for the Form 700.04 (previously Form 660) is now available. Click here to download the file in ZIP format. You will need save and unzip the file on your system.

Warning: This file is a PowerPoint presentation that requires you to have either the Microsoft PowerPoint presentation software or the Microsoft PowerPoint Presentation Viewer available here from Microsoft.

A training CD is available for technicians or trainers to use in order to become better prepared for the American Concrete Institute (ACI) Field Testing Technician written and performance examinations. While neither the University of South Carolina nor the SCDOT endorse any particular products, this CD is available at a nominal cost and may be helpful for technicians who are scheduled for ACI Field Testing Technician Certification. The PCC Field Testing training CD is available through the ACI bookstore or directly from the developer.
