Description: The American Society of Naval Engineers is seeking
applicants for the 2008-2009 ASNE scholarship. The programs of study which
apply to the naval engineering field include naval architects, marine, ocean, mechanical,
structural, civil, environmental, aeronautical, electrical, electronic engineers,
and relevant military and civilian professions. The selection criteria will
be based upon the student's academic record, work history, professional promise,
extracurricular activities and recommendations from college faculty, employers and
other character references.

Association of State Dam Safety Officials
Deadline: March 28, 2008
Description: The association of State Dam Safety Officials is seeking
applicants for the 2008 Dam Safety Scholarship Program. Up to $10,000 is available
for the 2008-2009 school year. Successful recipients must be U.S. citizens and enrolled
full-time at the senior level during the 2008/2009 school year in an accredited
civil engineering program or related field and must demonstrate interest in pursuing
a career in hydraulics, hydrology or geotechnical disciplines, or in another discipline
related to the design, construction and operation of dams. Students planning to
graduate in May/December 2009 are eligible to apply for the scholarship. Applicants
must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 for the first three years of college and be recommended
by their academic advisor.
