The South Carolina Section of the American Society of Civil Engineers has honored JEFF MULLIKEN, PH.D., P.E., M.ASCE, with its 2012 Engineer of the Year Award on October 24, 2012. The award is presented each year to a South Carolina engineer who has made the most outstanding contributions to the advancement of the civil engineering profession in the state.
Jeff is graduate of the University of South Carolina (BS 1989, MSc 1994, PhD 2011) and has been a practicing engineer for more than 20 years. Jeff is one of the stronger advocates and a great supporter of our department and program, and a great supporter and mentor to our students and the ASCE student chapter at USC. He actively promotes learning in the area of mathematics and the sciences, and mentors high school students with interest in engineering. Early in his career Jeff joined Westinghouse Savannah River Company where he was responsible for structural and seismic engineering support for nuclear-related safety structures. For the past 15 years, Jeff has been with LPA/Baker where he currently serves as Assistant Vice President and Statewide Principal of the South Carolina Operations. His duties include financial operations, business development, planning, employee development, and client management. Earlier this year Jeff received the Service to the Profession Award from the South Carolina American Council of Engineering Companies.
