Congratulations to Dr. Fabio Matta. He has been appointed Associate Editor of the Journal of Bridge Engineering, for a three year term effective April 28, 2010. The journal, published by the American Society of Civil Engineers, is widely regarded as the leading technical publication in the area of bridge engineering. As a member of the Editorial Board, Dr. Matta is responsible for coordinating the peer-review process for manuscripts submitted by researchers and practitioners from all over the world about issues, projects, materials, design, fabrication, construction, inspection, evaluation, safety, performance, management, retrofitting, strengthening, repair, and demolition.

Lesley Joseph has been awarded a 2010 Udall Scholarship, the ninth USC student to win the scholarship since 1999, but USC’s eleventh win in the competition.
